Bindlepunks.com is live. But far from complete. We’ve made as many edits to content as we can reasonably make for now, and I’m officially making the difficult transition from being a two-spaces-after-a-period person to a one-spacer. But that’s another story for another time. So far, I’m bored to tears by the site. It’s very pretty, and with a few adjustments it’ll be readable too. But the feedback we’ve received so far is unanimous: “Great. A website. What am I supposed to do with it?” Which leads me to ponder: What DO I want people to do with the Bindlepunks website? Obviously, I want people to check it out so they can learn more about our company and upcoming productions. But that’s BORING. That’s what EVERYONE’S website does. Bindlepunks are different. We want our audience to be a PART of the process. What do I want people to do with our website? I want them to comment on shows they’ve seen–whether it be positive or negative. I want Bindlepunks ensemble to talk about their experiences. I want to start a fight on my website. I want suggestions. Requests. Screaming commentary. Creation and destruction. From Bindlepunks. From our Ensemble. From our Audience. Hell, from Strangers! Bindlepunks.com ought to be the first ART-DRIVEN social media site on the Internet, no?
